There's A Place For You

At First United Methodist Church, we have classes and small groups for kids, youth, and adults all week long.

Sunday School (Pre-K through 6th)

We have a great Sunday School ministry on Sunday mornings here at First UMC.
Our Sunday School hour begins at 9:15 a.m. all over the church.
This fall, we have switched to the Live B.I.G. curriculum from the UM Publishing House for Pre-K through 6th Grade.
This exciting new curriculum uses DVD stories and hosts to help our wonderful volunteer teachers show the children how we can Live B.I.G.--Live out our Belief In God!

Jr. High School and High School (7-8; 9-12)
We have moved to a new curriculum in our Youth Sunday School as well.
This six-year rotation also uses DVD stories and interviews as we explore the "words" that are most important within our Christian faith.  We continue to measure our progress by setting and following our S.M.A.R.T. goals each week.

Adult Education Opportunities on Sunday morning
We have a number of Adult Groups on Sunday Mornings:

Sermon Discussion:
Pastor Joel leads the adult group that meets in the Chapel at 9:15 a.m.  Each week we discuss the current sermon series topic that is being presented in worship. This allows in depth discussion of the topic in our class. Please join us.

Hebrews Bible Study:
In the Church Library on Sunday mornings Dox Fox leads a study of Hebrews.

Other Opportunities
Lectionary Bible Study:
Thursdays, 10:00 a.m. in the Church Lounge.
Group members take turns leading a discussion of the coming week's Lectionary Readings.
Join us any week or every week.

Back Room Boys:
This inter-generational Men's group meets every Saturday (and we mean every Saturday) at 7:00 a.m. in the Church Lounge for fellowship, coffee, rolls and Bible Study.  Join us this week for a great start to your Saturday!

Special or Short-term Studies:
From time to time, we create new small groups as a part of a Seasonal or Sermon-series group.
These studies often take place during Advent and Lent.
Watch the Announcements page for our next short-term study.
